Visionaries may have an intuitive sense that we will miss fulfilling our soul’s purpose if we deny the urge to write. However, some of us may be afraid, feel unqualified, blocked, or terrified to make the leap. How do we know what we know? What makes us the experts? It’s absolutely crazy to think that, even after 30 long years in the industry, I still struggle with self-doubt. That doubt did not ease until I finished compiling my project portfolio on my website. It was then that I could sit and marvel over the body of the work I had completed in my life and realize I had not listed every project I had completed! About Ja-lene Clark

Thirty years ago, after being awakened by a haunting dream, Ja-lene was inspired to leave her successful career in restaurant management to pursue writing her first book. It was especially challenging for her because she had no prior writing experience. Nonetheless, she completed the manuscript and, upon doing so, felt she had achieved her life’s purpose. Excitedly, she submitted her work to numerous publishers, hoping that one would recognize its merit. Unfortunately, she was devastated when she received several rejection letters.

Rather than giving up, these setbacks inspired Ja-lene to explore the world of publishing more deeply. Her journey took a fortunate turn when she secured an apprenticeship at Council Oak Books, a publisher located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Over the years, she gained a unique perspective through experiential knowledge acquired by performing nearly every major role in the traditional publishing industry, progressing from Office Manager to Associate Publisher. In 2005, she left Council Oak and has since dedicated her life to mentoring and guiding visionary writers through the challenges and joys of traditional and self-publishing.

In 2025, the pinnacle of her career was achieved by sharing the gems of wisdom she has gathered throughout her life in The Journey of the Visionary Writer.
