About My Work with Melissa Harris
I have worked with Melissa Harris since 2006. Melissa is an artist and intuitive who has been internationally published. She is also an MFA and Fulbright Grant recipient. Melissa has dedicated her life to creating imagery that celebrates life, love, beauty, nature, women, and magic.
Melissa is a sweetheart to work with, and her transcendental art has activated dormant levels of creativity inside of me! I treasure how much she believes in me and allows me to expand my creativity by working on our projects together. We have collaborated on many projects, including inspirational card decks, books, and calendars. Our co-creative work has woven Melissa’s colorful and emotionally evocative imagery into these beautiful works. I am very proud of our work together!
Melissa Harris on Working with Ja-lene
Meeting Ja-lene at a trade show several years ago was the best thing that could have happened for me because I found the perfect person to work with on product development! She is a true expert in her field, always showing up with a cheery, positive attitude and a very full toolbox. She has acted as an agent and also a book developer for me on two books, a card deck, and calendars.
Ja-lene’s innate talents and skills are numerous. Initially, I was amazed at the variety of hats she wears, but I quickly became used to her being able to figure her way around any aspect of our creations. Some of her skills include great writing ability, graphic arts, communication skills, organizational skills, and general people skills. She helped me stay on schedule, organize my thoughts, and with content and continuity. She was able to source all of the contacts that I needed to complete my projects, such as editors, graphic artists, and printers.
One of the most valuable things in our work-life connection is her ability to help organize thoughts and ideas. She is a gentle yet firm coach and a great help in meeting deadlines. I tend to get easily overwhelmed, but Ja-lene always helps me relax and break things down into segments I can accomplish without too much stress. I highly recommend her and wouldn’t consider entering a project without Ja-lene!

Book Description
Fine artist, free spirit, successful entrepreneur, psychic, and medium Melissa Harris shares her art and her life — a feast of creative exploration. As a “sensitive” childhood leads to young adult struggles, she expands portrait painting to open doorways into souls and sojourns in New York and Paris to learn to paint only what she loves.
Autobiographical in nature, in this book, Melissa reveals her beliefs about the truths of some general traits of the artist and the common ingredients of an artist’s life. “For me, there is no other choice but to paint.”
Painting Outside the Lines is a visual feast, vibrant in color and emotion, sensuous and soulful. As we enter the enchanted world of the artist as a seer and adventurer, Melissa’s expressive work captures the universal stories of our own human experiences. If these oils, watercolors, and collages are her medicine, this healing spreads across the pages, inspiring us to express our inner world and ignite our visionary nature, a reminder that even erratic and ever-evolving lives can lead to graceful changes and that truly, “Anything is possible!”
Full-color 6″ x 8″ paperback with flaps. 212 pages. 78 images of oils, watercolors, and collages, plus personal photos.

Book Description
“[Harris] offers a diverse laundry list of mindful personal practices pointed toward introspection, exploration, and individual growth.”
– Publishers Weekly
Creativity is not just painting or writing; it is stepping outside the way we normally think and looking at a situation from different angles. Author Melissa Harris reminds us that the many small acts we perform on a daily basis can be used to view our lives in a new way.
100 Keys to a Creative Life* is divided into three sections for easy reference:
- 33 awareness keys (mental, emotional or physical): Awareness practices deepen our ability to know what accelerates our creativity. In this section we become highly aware of subtle things that can either stifle or propel us.
- 33 intuitive or heart-based keys: these help to keep us on the creative path. We “tune in” and make our channel to creativity stronger.
- 34 spiritual or soul-based keys: ways to apply spirituality or soul-based practices to our creative process. These keys also give the reader ideas on applying spiritual principles to enhance or improve our individual connection to Spirit.
*100 Keys is available as an Amazon ebook and 99 Keys was published in 2015 by Llewellyn Books.
